our roots

The origin of ATTIE derives from uncultivated mind the founder Perry Easton. Perry hailing from the Mecca of Brooklyn, sought opportunity to create a project which evoked from his experiences growing up as a first generation American. With his family reigning from the Caribbean lands of Guyana, adapting to the American cultures had an immersive affect on his growth throughout childhood, adolescent, and adult years of his life. By clinging to what some would consider ‘urban’ interest, the influence of Hip Hop, sports, and fashion took a prominent toll on the path he would wind upon to maintain his livelihood and growing up in NYC. With a public school education, and minimal college experience, Perry found himself in the retail industry working for major fast retail flagships where he began to expand and experiment amongst networking with people from various origins.

With no general understanding of what kind of future lied before him, nor a proper plan for career choice for the future, in 2015 he began to witness the struggle of being outcasted as a native to the city he was raised in by the workings of gentrification and decided to quit his job in search of something new. Between battling the free spirited lifestyle, addiction, and the finding faith, It wasn’t long before he received a call through the connections of the retail world which would change the narrative of his journey forever.
